Universal Protocol / time-out

A Pre-Procedural Care term on the RCIS & RCES exam blueprint, defined for cath lab and EP clinicians.

Immediately before the procedure begins, the team performs a verbal time-out confirming correct patient identity (two identifiers), correct procedure, correct side/site where applicable, relevant imaging or labs available, and confirmation that any required equipment specific to the case (e.g., a particular closure device, valve size, or device model) is present in the room.
